Is Scend Media insured?

You bet.  We take our work seriously so we're covered by a $2,000,000 Errors & Omissions policy.

What days can I book a shoot for?

Depending on the season, we're available seven days a week -- including weekends.

How far in advance should I schedule a shoot?

Depending on the season and availability, we can normally book you in 2-3 days out.  But especially during busy season we suggest scheduling shoots with as much lead time as possible.

How long does a shoot take?

It varies depending on the size and complexity of a property and how prepared it is when the photographer arrives.  You can use the following as approximate timelines.

Photos only shoot:  30 minutes
iGuide shoot:  60 minutes
Drone photos:  15 minutes
Drone photos & video:  30 minutes

How accurate are your measurements?

The short answer:  very!  By using a time-of-flight lidar scanner, the accuracy exceeds commercial and residential industry standards in ways that phone apps and other 360° and 3D cameras cannot.

The long answer:  floor plan dimensions and square footage accuracy depends on many factors, such as how large a floor plan is or the number of interior walls. You can feel confident in your choice because typical iGuide measurement uncertainty, in distance measurement on a floor plan, is 0.5% or better and the corresponding uncertainty in square footage is close to 1% or better. BOMA and Alberta RMS standards stipulate maximum square footage errors of 2% and iGuide easily meets these requirements.

More info:  the iGuide Method of Measurement provides more details.

Why don't your measurements match the measurements expected by the homeowners, used in the previous listing, shown in tax records, etc.?

It could be for several reasons, many of which are detailed in this article.

What do I need to know about billing?

Normally the day after a shoot you'll receive an electronic invoice for payment by email transfer, credit card, or cheque.

Payment is due on receipt of the invoice.  We thank you in advance for your prompt payment.

Do I have to meet the photographer at the property?

No.  Not at all.  As trusted partners to many prominent REALTORs® whose time is limited we can:

  • Meet you a property for a walk-through at which point you can leave.
  • Meet the homeowner at the property without you needing to be present.
  • Can use a garage code to access the property.
  • Can use a lockbox that you set up to access the property.

We'll ensure that lights are off, doors are locked, and keys are secure before we leave.  And we'll notify you so you know that the work has been completed.

What can I do to help ensure a successful shoot?

Thanks for asking.  Here's what you can do:

  • Ensure the homeowner has followed the recommendations in the home prep checklist.
  • Ensure that the property is ready before the photographer arrives.

The more time the photographer has to spend ensuring the property is ready to shoot, the less time remains for providing a range of quality photography.
